History

It all started in Katowice( Poland) at the end of 2011, during the Erasmus exchange program I was enrolled in. At the very beggining I only created a few words in response to a homework from the Interdisciplinary Arts course. Up until that point the language was practicaly nonexisting.Once returned to Cluj-Napoca(Romania) in the mid 2013 I reused it to give  a shape to my bachelor’s degree. Printed in just one copy under the name ‘’Noræ Kaasiinæ’’ the language took form of a simple story of two women, mother and daughter , samoiedic in origins, who modiffied their mother tongue into their own secret language.  At that point,the whole Hujdiš language was nothing more than a draft, many words were created in a rush and in consequence many were modified or revised afterwards.

            Coming back to the language was quite a challenge. I had to compose new words and to transform the old ones I already had. This exercise led me to the discovery of an algorithm that was finally becoming more and more obvious. Inspired by the story of the two samoiedic women I wanted to create my own and unique sounding language. I used Mongolian, Russian, Finnish and Estonian words who were simplified and rethinked to sound in a very specific way and respecting the harmony i was looking to create within the language. Choosing these languages to start my very own automaticaly created another path in history; the language and its speaker are learning in time and space, traveling from the distant east to the north of Europe. Could be an Uralic language? Could it be Samoiedic? More likely ambigous. In the end it’s all fiction, but it lays here, ready to use and it’s constantly growing bit by bit.
